I was listening to Q this morning on CBC and heard a great musing by Robert Bateman, the wildlife artist. He attributed it to someone else–I think it was a spiritual Aboriginal leader in the Cowichan valley, but the twins were acting up, so I can’t be entirely sure–so I will give the credit to Bateman as it was he who brought it to my attention. At any rate, here’s what he said:
Rather than ask what kind of world we are leaving behind for our children, the question we should be asking is: what kind of children are we leaving behind for our world.
Great question. Great wondering. Something to think about, to mull over, to revisit.
